Biography

The starting point

Born in Barcelona, I completed my violin studies with the highest grades in Barcelona Conservatory. Then studied baroque violin in Toulouse Conservatory and played professionally in baroque orchestras. Having played next to important singers planted a seed of wanting to be on stage with my voice. I began vocal training in Barcelona with Maestro Jorge Sirena and took lessons with Richard Levitt, David Mason and Rosa Domínguez.

While living in Germany, a successful BachwocheStuttgart in 2013 made me one of Helmut Rilling's Alto soloists, singing J.S. Bach’s Passions, Cantatas and Mass in b minor in concert halls like: Moscow Tchaikovsky’s, Hong Kong City Hall, Weimar Stadtkirche and Leipzig Thomaskirche among others.
Conductor Sigiswald Kuijken also invited me to perform J.S. Bach Repertoire on tour in Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Japan. I’m one of the principal soloists in Kay Johannsen‘s Ensemble BachVokal Stuttgart and I keep being invited by conductors like Martin Gester and Jordi Savall.
My debut with the Spanish National Orchestra to sing l’Atlantida by Manuel de Falla was the beginning of my operatic career. That was an invitation by one of my mentors, conductor Josep Pons.

Conducted by Gustavo Dudamel I sung Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with whom I also performed at the Peralada Festival next to Gustav Mahler Chamber Orchestra F. Mendelssohn’s Midsummer’s night dream. Together with wonderful harp player Manuel Vilas, I regularly sing Spanish secular music (Tonos Humanos) from 17th century on recital. A recording was made with label Naxos. Under the baton of Jordi Savall I recorded and performed Medieval music from the Spanish jewel Codex Las Huelgas. I also recorded with the BBC Symphony Orchestra the role of Pepa in Goyescas by Enrique Granados, for the record label Harmonia Mundi.
